These great photos were sent in this week by a reader. It's an EX5500 which caught on fire around about New Year's at the Tom Price mine.

Rail Damage at Comet

Continuing on with the flooding news this week. These pictures are from the rail line connecting Comet to Emerald. Incredible amounts of damage.

And a video of Channel Nine News. It shows some additional footage of the Baralaba flood, and some video of the Comet rail line.

Baralaba Flooding

The big news for the last few weeks in mining has been the amazing amount of flooding around Central Queensland. Nearly every mine has been affected in some way. The most prominent of these has been the complete flooding of the Baralaba coal mine, when the Dawson River broke through the levee.
