Flattened Light Vehicle

I don't know any of the story behind this photo, but that cab looks like it's gone through a hydraulic press, it's so flat.

Three years old!

This week Mining Mayhem celebrates its third birthday. When I first started this blog, I had about 150 incidents in my collection, so I thought the blog should run for three years, posting once a week. Today should have been the last post on the blog. Since then I've collected a lot more photos, and had a huge number sent in by readers. The blog will be going for quite a few years yet.

I'd like to give a big thanks to all the regular readers of the blog, and especially those who've sent in photos. I know that I haven't used all of the photos that've been sent in, but I'm saving them for future use.

In Mining Mayhem tradition, we'll celebrate this anniversary with another video. Thanks for reading!

Rear-Dumper Down Spoil Face

An amazing photo, with an equally amazing story. This incident happened in about 1997, in a mine in WA. The truck tipped over on the face, and slid 100m down the face to the floor. When it hit the floor, the truck flipped back onto its wheels.

The operator escaped with only slight cuts and some bruising.
