793 vs Drill Rig

Received these photos a couple of weeks ago, but with no description or location. Judging by the marks behind the truck, it looked like it might have just come around a corner.

Ejected Drill Rig

More great photos sent in last week from WA. A brand new Drillcorp Western Deephole Diamond Drill rig was being delivered to a Rio Tinto exploration site in the Pilbara.

From the description:
Apparently the driver stalled it on the hill....tried to do a hill-start....cocked it up and shunted the truck so hard it broke the chains holding the rig to the flatbed.....then the drill slid backward before falling off to the side !!! Brand Spankers !!!

Flooded Drills

I'm not sure if these drills have been flooded in water, or mud / slurry from some sort of highwall failure.

Drill Movement

Here's some photos of an overburden drill rig that's moved without withdrawing the drill head and rods. As you can see, the steel shaft has been bent a very long way. These photos make it look a lot like a mosquito's proboscis.
